RE-TREAT – The kickoff meeting in Madrid and the upcoming activities

On February 20th and 21st 2020,the kick off meeting of the RE-TREAT project had been held in Madrid(Spain) at the “Carlos III” University with the participation of all the project partners. 

During the meeting, all work packages had been presented and the members of the internal Ethic Advisory Board have been appointed. In particular, the work to be carried out for the Large-Scale Analysis Study (WP2)has been planned in details. It will provide an overview of the application of procedural and organizational measures in cases of sexual violence in Spain, Italy and Greece, and of the extent to which public officers respect the rights and specific needs of the victims of sexual crimes. By October 2020, each national research team will prepare a National Analytical Report, and a final Transnational Comparative Report will be published on January 2021. 

The University of Sassari (Italy), one of the partners of the project, will host on 25thand 27th June 2020 the 11th international conference of the European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ), titled “Justice beyond borders: Restorative connections through space and language”. The focus of the conference is on understanding the way in which restorative approaches can contribute towards undoing suffering and injustices experienced by people owing to physical, economical, cultural, political, and social borders. 

The second transnational meeting of the RE-TREAT project is planned for the 2nd and the 3rd July 2020 in Heraklion (Crete, Greece). Stay tuned!
