The Greek Council for Refugees (GRC) is a Non-Governmental Organization, which has been active since 1989 in the field of asylum and human rights in Greece. GRC is a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2001 and an operational partner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The services of GRC are provided in Athens, Thessaloniki, Evros (Orestiada, Alexandroupoli, Rodopi), Ioannina, but also in the islands of Lesvos, Chios, Kos, Leros, Samos, Rhodes and Heraklion. The main resources of the GRC come from European and Co-financed Projects, from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), from Public Benefit Institutions but also from companies or individuals.
